A new chapter begins.

I’ve stepped into a new role as HSE Manager with
Hatch, returning to the Neptune Terminals, this time supporting the B2-LCE Project in North Vancouver—working alongside my brother, Scott, through Black Fir Project Solutions.

That part means more to me than I can easily put into words for the path I’ve taken hasn’t been conventional.

But anyone who has worked with me knows this to be true: I’ve always shown up fully and gone beyond what was expected.. sometimes to the detriment of my own progress.

Not because it was strategic. Because it was right.

Even when working client-side, you’ll usually find me out with the crews.
Listening, learning, and cutting through noise.
Focusing on what actually matters; what’s real, what’s actionable, what helps people do their jobs safely and with pride.

Scott and I share that same approach.

Strengthen the core.
Align the team.
Make sure every person understands their role in something bigger than themselves.

Because that’s what’s missing on too many large-scale projects today.

We’ve become fragmented.
Overly tribal.
Distrustful.
Caught up in process, but disconnected from purpose.

And when that happens—safety, performance, and culture all suffer.

I was fortunate early in my career to be surrounded by a solid group of people who set the standard.

I was drinking from a firehose in those days.
Still am, in many ways.

But I’ve always believed this: if you stay open, stay humble, and stay willing to do the work.. you’ll find the right teachers.

This next phase isn’t about titles.
It’s about raising the standard.
Building trust.
Creating environments where people don’t just show up.. they engage, contribute, and take ownership.

That’s where real performance lives.

That’s where safety becomes something more than compliance.

Grateful for the opportunity.
Grateful for the people I’ve learned from.
And ready for what’s ahead.

Let’s get to work.
